Octagon UK client, npower, shortlisted for two major sponsorship awards
Octagon UK is proud to announce that their client, npower, has been shortlisted for the Sports Industry Awards 2011 and Hollis Sponsorship Awards 2011.
For the Sports Industry Awards 2011, npower has been nominated in the category of ‘Best Sponsorship of a Sports Event or Competition’ and for Hollis the category of ‘Sports Sponsorships over £750K’. This recognises the great work Octagon is undertaking with npower in their first season as title sponsors of the Football League.
Both awards are extremely competitive and this year the Sport Industry Awards received the highest ever number of entries.
Octagon has worked with npower from the beginning of the Football League sponsorship helping to negotiate the partnership which offers fans the chance to receive a £45 voucher to spend at their Football League club when they sign up to the npower Football Saver tariff. A brand new community scheme has also been launched which has received over 190,000 votes from fans across England and Wales as well as sponsoring the npower Kids and Girls Cup. The first time a brand has supported these initiatives which encourage youth participation in the game.
Promotional staff attend games every week across all three leagues to encourage fans to have their photo with the npower trophies, get hold of freebies and enter competitions to win exclusive club merchandise. Kids are encouraged to attend Football League matches through the npower f1rst Cap initiative which rewards those attending a match for the first time.
npower employees have not been left out either getting the chance to sign up to the npower Football League fan club which offers them free tickets to the club of their choice.
