MasterCard Europe wins Gold at the SportBusiness Sports Event Management Awards 2009

In winning the very competitive “Brand Presentation” category, MasterCard demonstrated that its sponsorship of the UEFA Champions League, and especially the 2009 Final in Rome, is one of the best in the industry.

The judges were extremely impressed by MasterCard’s entry which stood out in this tough category in which McLaren Marketing Ltd for the Formula One Grand Prix season and the Look Company for the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Championships won joint silver awards.

Octagon, the in-house sponsorship agency for MasterCard, not only organized and ran the UEFA Champions League sponsorship over the whole year but also prepared the winning entry, in particular highlighting the multi-channel activation of all available assets throughout its markets around the globe.
