Recently, her portrayal attracted vast praise and made Emma the youngest ever recipient of the Best Actress Award at the 2008 British Soap Awards, having had nominations for Best Actress at both the British Soap Awards and the National Television Awards in 2007. Emma's portrayal of anorexic Hannah Ashworth was so powerful that the anorexic helpline that followed the show received over 30,000 calls the next day.
